I started this book out of pure curiosity and because I was in the mood for a mystery book... And it didn't disappoint.
19 years-old Tallulah goes out on a date with her boyfriend, Zach, leaving their baby with Lula's mum, Kim. Tallulah and Zach head to the home of one of her collage friends, but they never come home.
Everything hits a dead end. Nobody knows what happened and the police don't find anything. It's like they vanished. Just like that.
Until Sophie, the girlfriend of the new head teacher, finds a sign of cardboard that said "Dig here", so she digs and finds a little box with a ring inside. She gets curious about Tallulah's case and starts to make some investigation by herself.
Honestly, the first part of the book was okay, but things get better in the second half. The writing was good and it was fast-paced, which was great because I devoured this book when I reached the second half.
To be fair, everyone in here is fucked up. Those teens, especially. And also Megs... Like, who doesn't give a shit for their missing kid? Why did you act like nothing happened?? It was infuriating and frustrating. My mum would have moved the fucking ocean with her bare hands just to find me. But yeah, I get it, not every single parent really care or are good.
Liam deserved better, to be honest. And also Tallulah. They were ruined by the same person and ended up really bad.
I didn't expect that epilogue tho. It was good and I was shocked.
It was a fun read, overall. I was suspecting of everyone in here and losing sleep trying to figure out what had happened.
Zach had it coming!
