ARC: The Matchmaker by Catherine Walsh.
Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for an ARC in exchange of an honest review.
Oh, gods, I really missed Catherine Walsh's books. One Night Only and The Rebound were pretty good and I like her books.
Katie Collins has always lived in her little town, Ennisbawn, feeling comfortable and happy... Until one day some guys start to build a big ass hotel, disturbing Katie's sleep and making her grumpy. And then, she mets Callum Dempsey, a really hot guy who's planning to knock down Ennisbawn and take away the pub: the place where Katie works and has spent a lot of time there.
This was really cute. I love the descriptions of Irish places/towns because they make me feel like I'm there (and I want to. I'll sell my kidney to go and live in Ireland, lmao). The romance was good and cute.
Somehow, some CW's characters remind me of Luke from Gilmore Girls. Luke (from The Rebound) reminds me of him, and also in this book, Adam seems like Luke as well!
CW's mcs are really amazing and wonderful, but her side characters are always the one who steal my heart. In this case, Granny Maeve really is my favorite. She's amazing and for a moment I was about to cry for her, but ma queen knows better. Nush, Gemma, Adam, Noah, Frank, and even Jack were pretty great, I loved them all.
I liked this book as well. And I need a book of Nush and Monica!
It was funny, cute, emotional and great!
